DESCALING
So that your coffee maker always works effectively, regularly remove the limescale left
by the water depending on the quality of the water in your area and the frequency of
use of the appliance. Do the following:
1. Fill the tank with water and limescale remover up to the indicated max level.
The mixture should be 4:1 water to limescale remover (use a household limescale
remover. For more information, refer to the limescale remover's instructions). You
can also use citric acid instead of limescale remover. (Proportion: 100 parts water to
3 parts citric acid).
2. Place the carafe on the heating plate, making sure that the centre of the receptacle
of the filter holder is aligned with the hole in the middle of the lid of the carafe.

minutes, water will flow automatically.

TIPS FOR A TASTY COFFEE
1. To obtain a tasty coffee, it is essential that the coffee maker is clean. Regularly clean
the coffee maker as indicated in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE"
section. Always use clean and cold water in the coffee maker.
2. Store the unused ground coffee in a cool, dry place. After opening a packet of
ground coffee, close it carefully and keep it in the refrigerator so that the coffee
stays fresh.
3. For tasty coffee, buy coffee beans and grind them finely just before brewing them.
4. Do not reuse the coffee powder, because that significantly reduces its flavour. It is
recommended that you do not reheat the coffee, because the flavour is the most
powerful just after brewing.
5. Clean the coffee maker when over-extraction results in an accumulation of coffee
oil. Small drops of oil can form on the surface of the brewed black coffee. They are
due to the extraction of oil from the powdered coffee.
6. This may be more frequent when using strongly roasted coffees.
