This user sheet is an addendum for the provisional anchoring devices (cf. EN795).
Please refer to the manual also supplied with the PPE to obtain all the
recommendations.
Before use, make sure that the recommendations specific to each component
associated with this product, as indicated in their manuals, are complied with.
Whenever possible, it is highly advisable to assign the PPE personally to one and the
same user. Check that the PPE you have just acquired is compatible with the
recommendations of the other fall arrest system components. In the course of use,
protect your PPE from any risks related to the working environment: thermal impact,
electrical mechanical shock, projection of acid, etc.
USE
The temporary lifeline is designed for use by one or two users with fall arrest
protection equipment and is suitable for provisional use, it should not be left in
place; disassemble and store it after each operation. It has been put through testing
in accordance with standard EN795 (b). Attach the horizontal lifeline higher than
user waist level to reduce the fall distance and the force of impact. The maximum
length recommended for a horizontal lifeline anchored at each end is 20 m. The
carabiner of the protection equipment connecting the lifeline to the user will be used
as a mobile anchor allowing movement along the length of the rope. This lifeline can
be used with an energy absorbing device conforming to standard EN355.
Do not use the horizontal lifeline if the rope has been attacked by chemicals, such
as acids or bases. Do not attach the horizontal lifeline to structures with pointed or
sharp edges or to the untreated surfaces of profiles.
CHECKING
Before each use, you must check:
That the knot is sound,

The absence of deformation in the eyes,

The absence of any deterioration (tears, wear, burns etc.) in the rope,

Absence of any incipient breaks in the rope,

The absence of signs of corrosion due to chemical products,
-
The absence of the provisional wear in the metal components,
-
The trouble-free operation of the turnbuckle and connectors.
