3. Safe use
• Ski helmets are only suitable for skiing. They are not suitable for other sports
such as cycling, motorcycling or moped riding. Always tighten the chin strap
before skiing.
• Do not stick labels over the helmet or paint it. Adhesives and paints may contain
components which impair the stability of the helmet and therefore its protective
function. Check the helmet regularly for damage. Minor scratches do not impair
its protective function.
• Only use original parts for repairs. The protective function of the helmet shell can
be severely impaired by a fall or heavy impact, even if the helmet is not visibly
damaged. Helmets which have suffered such treatment must be replaced under
all circumstances.
• The helmet must not be exposed to temperatures over 60°C, which may for
example be reached on sunny days in midsummer in a vehicle parcel shelf.
Do not modify the helmet in any way.
• Never drill the helmet or screw objects into it.
• Lateral ear protection:
On some ski/snowboard helmets, the ear protection parts can be removed for
exchange resp. cleaning purposes. However, it is essential that these are properly
mounted any time the helmet is being used as otherwise the safety function of
the helmet is no longer ensured.
