CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
NOTICE
These cleaning and maintenance recommendations are suggestions and non-obligatory.
Please observe the directions for use for the particular care or cleaning product. Before
you work on the entire seat with the particular product, you should try it out to see how
it works, on an inconspicuous part of the seat. RECARO does not accept any liability for
these care recommendations.
Fabric
After fairly lengthy use, it is essential to clean your seat cover with a standard dry foam
cleaner. These products play their part in restoring the cover and in bringing back the original
brilliance of the colours. However, please note: Always clean the entire surface and not just
individual areas. This prevents unsightly margins at the edges. If possible, you should remove
stains from your seat immediately. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to remove
them. Avoid hard rubbing with water-based solutions (dabbing is preferable). The process
naps the cover material.
Remove stains (e.g. blood, cola etc.) preferably with the dry foam cleaners mentioned or with
a fine detergent. For treatment of the cover, please follow the particular directions for use
provided by the cleaning product manufacturer. After being cleaned with foam cleaners, the
cover should be dried for at least 48 hours.
Greasy stains (e.g. ballpoint pen, lipstick, chewing gum etc.) cannot usually be cleaned with
foam cleaners. For this purpose, use a solvent such as cleaning solvent. Dab the dirty area
carefully and only on the surface, using a clean cloth soaked in solvent.
Important: Use only very little solvent. You must not soak the filling material with it, other-
wise it will become damaged and may even be destroyed.
Imitation leather
Imitation leather covers are particularly hard-wearing. It is best to clean them regularly with
a mild soapy solution.
Smooth leather
To preserve the resistance to dirt and water, you should occasionally apply a standard leather
spray sparingly and evenly to the smooth leather cover. Cover metal components of the seat
beforehand. Otherwise, regular dusting with a soft, clean cloth is sufficient.
More stubborn dirty patches or stains
Carefully remove more stubborn dirty patches or stains with a fine detergent. Dry the treated
site with a soft, clean cloth and use a leather care product.
