WELD
9.2 Torch body
CAUTION
Material damage
The welding torch is destroyed on the inside by impurities.
• Never blow compressed air into the nozzles from the front.
2 Clean lines by blowing compressed air through them from behind.
1 Remove gas nozzle.
2 Remove welding spatter.
NOTE
• Replace the centering ceramics as soon as deposits become visible on
the surface. Deposits may result in a catastrophic high-voltage arc,
destroying the torch body.
3 Check wear parts for visible damage and replace them, if required.
4 Unscrew back cap and remove tungsten electrode.
5 Sharpen tungsten electrode as follows:
Sharpening the tungsten electrode depends on wear and must therefore be
carried out when required.
Fig. 6
Sharpening the tungsten electrode
To sharpen the tungsten electrode, use a sharpening device with a diamond
wheel and the following functional principles:
• The point is sharpened longitudinally through the center axis.
• Automatic regulation of the tungsten electrode drive by gravity.
• Can be set for all electrode diameters.
• Offers continuous adjustment of the angle.
