11.3 RS847

Use only the back handle to move the chair, never use other supports. Know your own capabilities
and limitations in terms of strength and endurance before attempting to go up a ramp. Assistance
is recommended when in slope higher than 10%. If you need to stop in a sloping surface, avoid
abrupt movements. During the downhill, do not change suddenly the direction. Lift the chair up
if necessary, using the main frame and not armrests or footrests.
WARNING!
The patient must not put pressure on footrests when go up and down from the chair.
BRAKES
You can brake the chair pushing the lever on each wheel. If you need to adjust the brake lever, you
can unscrew the nut, move the clamp at the required position and then tighten again.
WC
Use the toilet when the wheelchair is completely blocked. To use the toilet take out the removable
part of the seat using the handle on the front part. Take out the toilet using the handle.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The backrest and the armrests can be adjusted together on two different heights. Unscrew and
remove the knobs that lock the backrest to the seat and raise or lower the backrest as necessary.
Finally insert and tighten the knobs again.
FOOTREST ADJUSTMENT
The footrests of shower and WC chair can be adjusted according to your needs:
• Unfasten the screw;
• Adjust the footrest height;
• Fasten the screw again. Check that both footrests are adjusted at the same height.

12. MAINTENANCE

The MOPEDIA by MORETTI S.p.A. chairs need minimal maintenance and general care, but we
suggest you to control regularly:
• Braking system: monthly.
• Cleaning parts (seat, backrest, armpad, wheels and so on) if necessary.
• Cleaning the upholstery of the seat as required.
• General check by qualified personnel every two years.
It is extremely important that the wheelchair is checked at the first use. In particular, please
check that all screws and nuts are tight.

13. CLEANING AND SANITISATION

13.1 Cleaning

To clean the aid and the structure use a solution of alcohol and neutral soap (in equal parts) mixed
with water.
WARNING! Do not use abrasive substances, acids, alcohol, chlorine-based cleaners,
disinfectants and acetone when cleaning, because these substances cause the
abrasion of the plastic surfaces and rusting of metal surfaces.
The manufacture company cannot be held responsible for the damage that is caused by using
materials that could damage the product surface or corrosive chemicals during cleaning.
