Service/Maintenance
WARNING
The manufacturer or a trained person must carry out an inspection at least once a year. Check, for example, if
the filters are damaged, the dust extractor's air tightness and the operation of the control unit, and inspect the
electrical components, seals and cables for equalization so that they are not damaged.
Potential equalization checks should be carried out regularly when modifications or repairs are made in the
system.
The following safety precautions should generally be followed before starting maintenance:
1.
The machine must be disconnected from the power supply during cleaning and maintenance.
WARNING
Service must never take place inside the zone.
2.
To avoid the spread of dust, the machine must be vacuumed and wiped clean, and the suction opening blocked with the
supplied plug, before the machine is taken from the contaminated area.
3.
All machines must be considered as contaminated if they are removed from the hazardous zone. Appropriate measures must
be taken to prevent the spread of dust.
4.
At maintenance or repair, all contaminated objects that have not been cleaned satisfactorily must be disposed of. Such items
must be disposed of in dust-proof sacks in accordance with the regulations applicable to the disposal of waste.
5.
Clean the machine before disassembling.
6.
A room with filtered, forced ventilation is recommended. A DC Box is a recommended alternative.
7.
Clean the maintenance area in advance.
8.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
9.
The cyclone filter cartridges must be replaced when necessary, but at least once a year. Only use original filters, see
Consumables.
WARNING
Do not reuse the filter after it has been removed from the machine.
The fine filter must be changed at least once a year. The HEPA filter must be replaced after approx. 300 hours of operation. Wear
a protective mask when changing the filter. Only use original filters. Release and lift off the cover. To prevent leakage of dust,
place a plastic bag over the cyclone and remove the filter cartridge. Clean the filter plate. Fit the new filter.
1
The HEPA filter is removed by opening the cover and detaching the cartridge. By gently tilting the detached motor head away
from the cyclone, a lateral pressure occurs on the HEPA filter cartridge that is attached to the motor. If necessary, repeat the
procedure until the HEPA filter falls into the fine filter cartridge. The HEPA filter and the fine filter can then be discarded. The new
filter cartridge is placed in the fine filter and is sealed when you carefully fit the cover.
Motor
For fan motors, the typical life of a DC motor is 10,000 hours. Provided that the machine is used in the normal way and receives
the required service
Filter replacement
Filter replacement may only be performed by trained personnel. Use a protective mask and suitable equipment.
