6. Reinstall the filter slider on the microscope.
7. Close the side cover.
8. Apply the adhesive marker ⑦ for the fluorescence cube
on the side cover. (Fig. 71)
9. Connect the power supply.
10. Start working.

14.5 Use of the Anti-glow cap

Use the anti-glow cap to prevent flare coming from the
condenser front lens. (Fig. 72)

14.6 Filter holder / Shutter

Only IM-3F / IM-3FL4
The microscope is equipped with a filter holder /
shutter located on the back side of the microscope.
(Fig. 73)
The filter holder has three positions: ① filter holder
for ND filters, ② empty hole, ③ shutter.
14.6.1 Inserting a ND filter
The bleaching of the fluorescent specimen caused by
excessive energy of the HBO bulb can be delayed by
inserting an ND (Neutral Density) filter in the optical path.
1. Slide the filter into the hole and place it. (Fig. 74)
