II USE
•
The 1S162 valve is intended for use in lower limb prosthesis only. Any other use is not permitted.
•
The 1S162 valve is designed to allow automatic air expulsion during prosthesis donning.
•
To remove the prosthesis, press button (1.22) (See chapter I) to allow air to flow in.
III INDICATIONS / CONTRA-INDICATIONS
No contra-indications for using the 1S162 valve in a lower limb prosthesis, whatever the patient weight and activity level.
IV MAKING THE SOCKET
Rigid socket :
Make the socket as usual and mark the
a)
position of the valve on this socket.
Then drill a 8.5 mm Ø hole on the lankmark,
perpendicular to the socket wall.
b)
Thread the hole at M10 x 1.5.
Flexible socket :
Before thermoforming, fasten insert (3.1)
(smooth face on the outside) to the positive
using the 2 nails (3.2.)
* Drill a 10,5 Ø hole into the socket
(Threading the soft material is impossible)
V PREPARING THE VALVE
a)
Disassemble the valve plug (1.2) and the
valve seat (1.3), then place the flat gasket
(2) on the valve seat.
b)
Using a 5 mm hex wrench (3), screw the
valve seat (1.1) into the socket and take
care that the flat gasket (2) be compres-
sed enough.
