ATTENTION! Read all the safety information and instructions that were supplied with the vinyl and laminate
cutter. Failure to comply with safety information and instructions can lead to injury. Keep the manual in a safe
place for future reference.
The vinyl and laminate cutter is exclusively intended and suitable for cutting the following to length without
the use of tools:
• Laminate with a maximum thickness of 14 mm
• Vinyl with a maximum thickness of 6 mm
• Design floors (different substrate materials such as cork, PVC, MDF) with a maximum thickness of 11 mm
• It must not be used to cut other materials
Take the VLC 1000 out of the cardboard box and check that the contents are complete and all illustrated
parts are included (page 2).
1. Open the cutting blade to the limit stop using the handle. Remove the Allen key from the angle stop.
To adjust the limit stop to the various setting positions, mount the limit stop as illustrated from the cutting
width 210 mm to max. 370 mm (Figures 1.1 - 1.4).
2. Set the cutting gap width using the two cutter bars for materials with thicknesses from 2 mm
to max. 14 mm. Adapting the cutting gap width minimises tearing on the material's underside.
Adapting the cutting gap width minimises tearing on the material's underside. Note the engravings on the
left cutter bar for this. The cutter bars are mounted for material thicknesses from 12 mm to max. 14 mm
on delivery (boreholes B). For materials from 9 mm to max. 11 mm, loosen the six screws and slide the two
supports in the direction of the arrow to the next borehole. Retighten the six screws. For materials from
2 mm to max. 8 mm, the two cutter bars must be remounted. Loosen the six screws for this. Position
the two cutter bars at boreholes A as illustrated. Retighten the six screws. The cutting gap is now set for
materials from 5 mm to max. 8 mm. For materials from 2 mm to max. 4 mm, loosen the six screws and
slide the two supports in the direction of the arrow to the next borehole. Retighten the six screws
(Figures 2.1 - 2.5).
3. The vinyl and laminate cutter makes material cuts using a three-step cut with widths of 210 mm.
Open the cutting blade all the way to the limit stop using the handle. Butt the material against the angle
stop. This results in an exact cutting angle of 90 degrees. Make the first cut, cutting the first third of the
way through the material.
Attention: For the second cut, only open the handle until the lever audibly engages in the gear wheel
(Figure 3.2). Make the second cut, cutting the second third of the way through the material. For the third
cut, only open the handle until the lever audibly engages in the gear wheel (Figure 3.3). Make the third cut,
completing the cut through the 210 mm wide material (Figures 3.1 - 3.3).
Attention: For material widths greater than 210 mm (working with or without the angle stop), open the
handle as far as it will go. Slide the material parallel in the cut as far as the blade. Then repeat the cutting
process until the material is cut all the way through.
4. Angle cuts of 45 degrees using the angle stop.
Mount the angle stop as illustrated. Then make the cuts as described in Point 3. Materials up to a width
of 210 mm can be cut using the angle stop (Figures 4.1 - 4.2).
5. Angle cuts without using the angle stop.
Open the cutting blade all the way to the limit stop using the handle. Butt the material against the blade a
t the desired angle. Make the cuts until the material is cut all the way through. Note: The material can be
secured to the cutter bars using a suitable clamp (see close-up Y) to prevent it slipping during cutting
(Figure 5).
6. Rip cuts without using the angle stop.
Open the cutting blade all the way to the limit stop using the handle. Butt the material against the blade
at the desired width. Make the cuts until the material is cut all the way through. Note: The material can
be secured to the cutter bars using a suitable clamp (see close-up Z) to prevent it slipping during cutting
(Figures 6.1 - 6.3).
