7.2. Cleaning the fuel filter (diagram F)
Undo the four 10 mm bolts holding right-hand side panel (1) in place and remove the latter.
Remove air filter (2) to access the fuel filter.
Ensure that fuel tap (3) is closed (horizontal position).
Undo tap mounting bolt (4) to make the procedure easier, and recover spacer (5).
Unscrew fuel filter bowl (6) (10 mm spanner).
Recover seal (7) and filter (8).
Clean the filter and bowl in clean fuel.
Refit the filter components in the reverse order to removal and ensure that the filter is mounted correctly.
Open the fuel tap and ensure that there are no leaks.
Refit the air filter and right-hand side panel and ensure that it is secured in place.
7.3. Renewing the motor oil (diagram D)
Change the oil when the motor is still warm, to ensure that drainage is rapid and complete.
Place the generating set on support blocks and place a suitable container underneath the generating set.
Remove oil filler cap / dipstick (1).
Remove panel (2), unscrew and remove drain plug (3) and drain the oil into the container.
When fully drained, screw drain plug (3) back in and refit panel (2).
Fill the engine oil sump with the recommended oil, then check the level.
Position and tighten the filling plug-gauge (1).
Check that there are no oil leaks after filling.
Wipe off any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
Remove the blocks and the container.
7.4. Checking the spark plug (diagram G)
Undo the four bolts holding right-hand side panel in place and remove the latter.
Remove the spark plug cap and use a spark plug spanner to remove the spark plug.
Inspect the spark plug and discard it if it has worn electrodes or melted or cracked insulation. If it is to be re-used, clean the spark
plug with a metallic brush.
Measure the electrode gap with a feeler gauge. The electrode gap should be 0.8 mm. Check that the spark plug washers are in
good condition and screw them in by hand, in order to avoid damaging the threads.
After fitting the spark plug, tighten it with a spark plug spanner to compress the washer.
Note : When fitting a new spark plug, tighten it by 1/2 turn after it is seated, in order to compress the washer. When refitting an
old spark plug, tighten it by a 1/8 / 1/4 turn when seated, in order to compress the washer.
Refit the right-hand side panel and ensure that it is held in place.
7.5. Checking bolts, nuts and screws
Daily, detailed checks of all nuts, bolts and screws are essential in order to prevent any accidents or breakdowns.
Inspect the generating set as a whole before and after each use.
Tighten any loose nuts or screws.
Note : the tightening of cylinder head bolts should be carried out by a specialist. Contact your local agent.

7.6. Cleaning the generating set

Remove all dust and debris from around the exhaust and clean the generating set using a cloth and a brush (cleaning with a water
jet is not recommended, and cleaning with high-pressure cleaning equipment is forbidden).
Carefully clean the motor air inlets and outlets and the alternator.
Check the general condition of the generating set and, if necessary, replace any faulty parts.
