INSTALLING MULCH KIT
CAUTION! Before proceeding, place all controls in
the disengaged or OFF position REMOVE SPARK PLUG
WIRES FROM THE SPARK PLUGS. and remove ignition
key.
1.
Block the front of the mower up to give access to the
underside of the front deck.

Remove the three nuts and bolts that protect the mulch kit
fastening locations.
NOTE: Only one hardware site is shown in the illustration.

Bolt left-hand corner mulch baffl e to the outside of the
deck baffl e weldment as shown in the illustration.

Install palnut onto the carriage bolts through the tabs on
the top of the left and right baffl es by using a 1/2" socket.

Set the left-hand baffl e in place with carriage bolts up
through the deck. Secure baffl e to deck with nuts and bolts
as shown. Attach right baffl e with the same procedure.
INSTALLING BLADES
CAUTION! Blades are sharp. Protect your hands
with gloves and/or wrap blades with a heavy cloth
when handling.
1. Remove the original deck blades with a breaker bar
and 15/16" socket. Retain the blade bolts for reuse.
2. Install the kit blades using the existing blade bolts
and torque to 122 - 136 Nm (90 - 100
3. Rotate the blades by hand and check for clearance
of all baffl es.
CAUTION! Use only a replacement blade approved
by the manufacturer of your mower. Using a blade not
approved by the manufacturer of your mower is hazardous,
could damage your mower and void your warranty.
ASSEMBLY
LEVELING MOWER DECK
Be sure deck is properly leveled for best mower performance.
See the mower's Operator Manual for instructions.
1. Remove blocks and return the mower to its normal

Note: Optional palnuts have been included with the mulch kit
for the operators convenience when switching from a mulching
system to discharge or collection systems. When mulching
system is not in place, bolts retained on unit with push nut
should have fl ange nut securely tightened to prevent loss of
fasteners..

Using 1/2" wrench install mulch cover as shown.
Rotate the blades by hand and check for clearance of all
baffl es.
Make sure all hardware is tight.
