noises inside the unit
You may notice that your unit generates strange noises. Most of
them are perfectly normal. You should get to know them.
These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigeration liquid
through the cooling system, and they have become more pro-
nounced since the introduction of CFC-free gases. This is not a fault
and does not affect the performance of the unit. The noise is gener-
ated by the operation of the compressor motor that pumps the re-
frigerant into the system.
tips to preserve foods in the appliance
• Cooked meats and fish should be stored on a shelf above raw
meats and fish to prevent the transfer of bacteria. You should
keep raw meats and fish in a container that is large enough to col-
lect juices and cover them properly. Place the container in the
lower shelf.
• Leave space between food containers to allow air to circulate in-
side the unit. Make sure all parts inside the compartment are kept
fresh.
• To avoid flavor transfer and dehydration, pack food separately.
Fruits and vegetables do not need to be wrapped.
• Allow hot foods to cool down before placing them inside the unit.
This will help maintain the internal temperature of the unit.
• To prevent cold air from escaping from the unit, try to limit the
number of times you open the door. We recommend opening the
door only when you need to place or remove food.

defrosting
Defrost the freezer compartment when the ice layer on the evapo-
rator surface reaches 3 or 4 mm thick. When defrosting, remove all
food and select the OFF position on the thermostat.
Place the drip tray under the evaporator to collect melted water. Af-
ter the ice has melted, discard the water and dry the inside of the
refrigerator. The refrigerator can then be reset by turning the ther-
mostat to the desired position.
