1 Preface
These Repair instructions have been published in order to
provide the information required for troubleshooting and
repair of the Bosch rapid-start charger LW30E. Please
read through the instructions carefully and keep them in a
safe place so that you can use them in your daily work.
2 Symbols used
2.1 Warning symbols
This symbol indicates general dangers in the
Troubleshooting and repair instructions.
This symbol indicates dangers resulting from
electrical voltages in the Troubleshooting and
repair instructions.
F Please note this information carefully and behave
with particular caution in such cases.
F Please also pass on this information to other
users of the charger.
F The generally valid safety and accident prevention
regulations must be followed in addition to the

2.2 Note symbol

3 Safety information
The following safety and precautionary
information must be observed in order to
avoid personal injury and damage to the
rapid-start charger.
Important Risk of lethal injury
High electrical voltages
F The regulations in accordance with VDE 0100 must
be observed.
F Troubleshooting and repair may be carried out
only by a qualified electrician.
F The unit must be safety-separated from the mains
with an isolating transformer during
troubleshooting and repair.
Only one single unit may be connected to the isolating
transformer.
The unit connected to the isolating transformer may
not be earthed and may not be connected to other
units.
F Disconnect the supply voltage from the unit if it is
unattended.
F Keep unauthorized persons away from the unit.
F Always ensure that the charger is horizontal and
secure on a firm base.
Risk of injury as the result of the unit slipping or
dropping. Note the weight of the unit!
F Keep the workplace clean and tidy.
Clear away tools, measuring instruments, leads and
cables immediately after use.
F Avoid electrostatic charges.
Electrostatic discharges may damage components of
the charger. Discharge any electrostatic charges in
your body by touching an earthed object before
starting repair work. Always work on an antistastic
floor covering or concrete floor.
F The charging cables may not be modified.
The cross section, length, material and contacting
influence the electrical values of the charger.
F Do not replace the incorporated electric cutouts by
commercially available automatic circuit-breakers.
If connectors need to be detached from a
component, note down the pin assignment
beforehand.
