6. CLEANING AND STORAGE

• Unplug the Cuisinart® slow cooker and allow it
to cool before cleaning.
• Place the ceramic bowl and lid in the dishwasher,
or clean them with hot, soapy water. If the food
sticks to the bowl, fi ll with warm, soapy water
and allow to soak before cleaning.
• If scouring is necessary, use liquid detergent
and a nylon brush or sponge. Do not use an
abrasive sponge.

7. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Always follow the safety instructions to avoid
injuring yourself or damaging the unit. Use this
unit according to the instructions in this manual
only.
• Only use this appliance as described in this
notice and following all the instructions.
• Do not use outside.
• For household use only.
• Do not place the unit in a damp or wet place.
• Do not place the unit on or near a heating
appliance.
• Do not use the unit on heat-sensitive surfaces or
near infl ammable materials.
• Do not place the bowl in the oven, do not use on
gas or an electric element.
• Never immerse the hot cooking container in
cold water.
• Never fi ll the slow cooker bowl more than
two-thirds full.
• Never reheat frozen foods in the slow cooker.
• Always fi nish cooking that has started.
• Follow the cooking instructions provided by the
food manufacturers.
• Do not plug the power cord into the same outlet
as that of a refrigerator or a microwave oven.
• Do not allow the cord to hang over the work-top,
and do not let it touch hot surfaces.
• Always unplug the unit when not in use, before
moving it or before cleaning it. Pull on the plug
to unplug, and never on the cord.
• Be particularly careful if using near children.
Store the appliance out of the reach of children.
Do not allow children to use the slow cooker.
• Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped
or if it appears damaged.
• Stop using the appliance immediately if the cord
is damaged. The cord may only be replaced by
a professional.
• Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
• Use of any accessories not recommended or
sold by Cuisinart® could result in fi re, shock or
risk of injury.
• This appliance meets the essential requirements
of Directives 89/336/EEC (electromagnetic
compatibility) and 73/23/EEC (safety of domestic
electrical equipment), as amended by Directive
93/68/EEC (CE marking).
