B. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This cooker cooks slowly and gently. After adding
liquid, cover the preparation with the lid and allow
to simmer at a low temperature for the time called
for in the recipe.
For traditional dishes (beef bourguignon, mutton
stew, Provençal stew, etc.), it is preferable to
brown the meat over high heat before cooking it
in the Cuisinart® slow cooker to eliminate the fats
and give it a colour that will improve the taste of
the preparation.
It is possible to use the slow cooker with or
without the timer.
Low temperature cooking
(LOW)
Ideal for cooking food at a low temperature (about
90°) for a long time so that meat and fi sh remain
tender and tasty. Cooking at Low can take up
to 8 hours depending on the type of food being
cooked.
High temperature cooking
(HIGH)
Ideal for foods that require cooking over higher
heat (about 100°) to allow aromas to penetrate
well while keeping their original fl avours (meats,
fi sh). Cooking time will vary between 4 and 5
hours depending on the food being cooked.
Keep warm setting
(WARM)
Lets you keep the food warm (about 75°) once
cooking is fi nished. The unit will automatically
switch to keep warm once the programmed cook
time expires.
It is recommended that the food be kept warm for
about 1 to 2 hours maximum once the cooking is
fi nished and then stored in an appropriate place.
Then turn the unit off.
Timer control
Lets you programme the cooking time according
to the type of food. The programming is divided
