Useful Tips
• Consider wall mounting or using a tripod floor stand for the 500IR to ensure
optimal placement.
• Wear the 501TI with the supplied belt clip or lanyard and boom mic for com-
fort and ease of usability.
• Adjust the boom mic headset for comfort, and ensure that the microphone
is positioned correctly.
• Avoid approaching too close to the 500IR with the 501TI turned on – this
may cause a squeal or feedback from the receiver.
• Keep the soundfield receiver away from direct sunlight, which is a source of
infrared interference.
• Avoid excessive amplification – soundfield IR will make speech clearly au-
dible at a comfortable listening level.
• Use the tone control on the rear panel of the 500IR to fine-tune its speaker's
sound. Your audiologist or sound professional may assist you with this ad-
justment.
• Use only the recommended batteries and correct power adapters for the
receiver and the charging cradle.
• If you have forgotten to charge the 500IR and the internal battery is low, it
may be operated from the classroom AC supply via its power adapter.
• Serial numbers are located on the back of the 500IR, on the bottom of the
HDC-502, and inside the 501TI battery compartment.
