8. Check that the disc-cleaning system functions correctly (except R-080084). To do
this, turn on at the main switch, which is on the left side of the unit. The cutting
machine will start up, and the servovalve controlling the inflow of water will open.
9. Open the tap at the main water intake. Turn the cutter control (E) anticlockwise until
flow is right. After a few minutes of operation, check that there is no leak in the tube
connections.
HANDLING OF THE UNIT
1. Adjust the support surface (B) by loosening the attachment screw. One may choose,
depending on the nature of the work, one of three positions. Subsequently, tighten the
attachment screw (C ) until the support surface is firm.
2. Protect yourself suitably.
- Use safety goggles.
- Use safety gloves.
- Use a face-mask
- Always use the cutting machine with suction (only R-080084).
3. Switch on the unit at the main switch, which is on the left side. The motor will start up.
4. Open the tap at the main water supply. Turn the control cock (B) until water flow is as
desired. Flow increases when the cock is turned anticlockwise (except R-080084).
5. Set the model cutting on the support surface (B). For higher precision in the cut, the
support surface is provided with reference marks to facilitate estimation of the model
attack angles.
6. When work is over, turn off at the main switch.
7. It is recommended that plaster be removed, after operation, from the support surface
and the front housing (D) with a damp cloth.
CHANGE OF ABRASIVE DISC
Replace the abrasive element when it is worn or deteriorated. Always use MESTRA
spares, since only these ensure perfect machine equilibrium and highest-quality
abrasive resin. Proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the unit from the power supply and close the main water tap.
2. Remove the front protective fairing of the disc (D) by undoing the four lock nuts that
secure it to the after body. Use an M8 wrench.
3. The disc plate is attached to the motor shaft by a threaded coupling. The connection
has probably hardened with the passage of time, and the application of loosening oil
is advisable. Allow it a few minutes to take effect.
4. To remove the disc, connect the drive shaft by applying the M13 socket wrench
supplied with the unit to the rear end of the shaft. The wrench has a useful rod-arm
that can be so placed that it comes to a stop at the surface on which the unit rests,
preventing unwanted shaft rotation while the disc is being changed.
