WARNING: The sensor insertion process is a multi-step process (as shown below). Not following
directions may result in an accidental needle stick, incorrect sensor insertion, or the sensor being
pulled out of the body. When following the steps below, do not remove the Serter until you have
pressed (10a), released (10b), and then pressed the button again (10c) to ensure correct sensor
insertion. The Serter injects the sensor upon the first button press and release. The second button
press is required to detach the Serter from the sensor.
Note: After you insert the sensor (10a-10c), hold the button in while lifting the Serter off the sensor
insertion site (10d).
To insert the sensor, complete the following four steps:

10a. Press the button
in and then
release.
8. To detach the sensor from the pedestal, place two fingers on the
pedestal arms and slowly pull the Serter straight up. Do not detach
the pedestal from the Serter in mid-air, as this might damage the
sensor.
WARNING: Never point a loaded Serter toward any body part where
insertion is not desired. An accidental button-push may cause the needle
to inject the sensor in an undesired location causing minor injury.
9. Place the base of the Serter flat against your insertion site.

10b. Wait 5 seconds to
allow the adhesive
time to stick to skin.

10c. Press and hold in
the button again. Do
not release it.

the Serter away from
the skin.
