In the unlikely event that the anchor piece cannot be installed either way, it is also possible to install the Comfort Base
mounting plate on the seat of the car without the anchor piece.
If, following installation, the Comfort Base mounting plate is not positioned firmly against the seat and you are able to
fit your hand between the plate and the seat of the car (Fig. 9-3), the Comfort Base mounting plate should be used
without the anchor piece. You can then install the Comfort Base mounting plate together with the Rodi XP.
IMPORTANT: The Comfort Base system merely serves as an aid and does not contribute to securing the car seat in the
event of a collision.
Disassembling the Comfort Base from the rear seat
Pull up on the catch on the Comfort Base mounting plate (Fig. 11-1) to unlock the system. You can now separate the
Comfort Base mounting plate from the anchor piece and remove the anchor piece from the back seat (Fig. 11-2).
Assembling the Rodi XP on the Comfort Base
Once the Comfort Base mounting plate has been installed on the seat of the car, the Rodi XP can be fitted on to the
Comfort Base.
• Lower the Rodi XP in a vertical position onto the rearmost position of the Comfort Base mounting plate while
keeping the backrest firmly pressed against the seat back (Fig.12-1).
• Make sure the seat is not placed on the belt buckle.
• Push down on both the front as well as the back of the booster seat until you hear a "click" (Fig. 12-2).
The two Rodi XP positions
The backrest of the Rodi XP can be placed in 2 different positions (sitting and reclining) after being installed on the
Comfort Base mounting place (Fig. 13).
• With one hand, pull up the booster seat using the handle on the front, while at the same time holding down the front
of the Comfort Base mounting plate with the other hand (Fig. 13-1).
• After you hear a "click", the booster seat can be pulled forward until the stop position (Fig. 13-2).
• Now push down on the front of the booster seat again until you hear a "click" (Fig. 13-3).
To return the Rodi XP to the rear position, repeat the instructions above except this time push the booster seat
backwards until the stop position.
Once the Rodi XP has been positioned as desired, you may place your child in the seat.
Disassembling the Rodi XP and Comfort Base
To remove the Rodi XP from the Comfort Base mounting plate, the seat must be placed in the rearmost position.
• With one hand, pull up the booster seat using the handle on the front, while at the same time holding down the front
of the Comfort Base mounting plate with the other hand (Fig. 14-1).
• After you hear a "click", pull up the back of the Rodi XP until you hear another "click" (Fig. 14-2).
The Rodi XP should now be separate from the Comfort Base mounting plate and can be removed from the car. You
can now remove the Comfort Base mounting plate from the seat of the car. To do so, read the instruc-tions under
"Disassembling the Comfort Base from the rear seat".
