TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Burner will not light using
ignitor
(if included)
Burner will not light with
match
Sudden drop in gas flow
or reduced flame height
Possible Cause
1. LP gas tank is low or empty
2. LP gas leak
3. Wires or electrode covered with
cooking residue
4. Electrode and burners are wet
5. Electrode cracked or broken - sparks
at crack
6. Wire loose or disconnected
7. Wire is shorting (sparking) between
ignitor and electrode
8. Bad ignitor
1. No gas flow
2. LP gas tank is low or empty
3. LP gas leak
4. Coupling nut and regulator not fully
connected
5. Obstruction of gas flow
6. Spider webs or insect nest in venturi
7. Burner ports clogged or blocked
1. Out of gas
2. Excess flow valve tripped; safety
device may have been activated
Prevention/Cure
1. Replace LP gas tank
2. Follow "Checking for Leaks" instructions in
the owner's manual
3. Clean wire and/or electrode with rubbing
alcohol
4. Wipe dry with cloth
5. Replace electrode, please call our Customer
Care at 1-800-963-0211
6. Reconnect wire or replace electrode/wire
assembly, please call our Customer Care at
1-800-963-0211
7. Replace ignitor wire/electrode assembly,
please call our Customer Care at
1-800-963-0211
8. Replace ignitor, please call our Customer
Care at 1-800-963-0211
1. Check if LP gas tank is empty
A. If empty, replace
B. If LP gas tank is not empty, refer to "Sudden
drop in gas flow or reduced flame height"
2. Replace LP gas tank
3. Follow "Checking for Leaks" instructions in
the owner's manual
4. Turning the coupling nut about one-half to
three quarters additional turn until solid stop.
Tighten by hand only-do not use tools
5. Clear burner tubes
6. Clean venturi and burner tube
7. Clean burner ports
1. Replace LP gas tank
2. Turn regulator/control knob to
3. Wait 30 seconds and light grill per "Lighting
Instructions" in the owner's manual
4. If flames are still too low, reset the excessive
flow safety device:
a. Turn regulator/control knob
b. Remove LP gas tank
c. Wait 1 minute
d. Attach LP gas tank
e. Perform a leak check per "Checking for
Leaks" instructions in the owner's manual
f. Light grill per "Lighting Instructions"
