Installation
Intended use
The multi line separator module (Fig. 1) protects the
FDnet/C-NET from short-circuits in the event of sub-stubs
on the FDnet/C-NET loop. It can be operated on one
FDnet/C-NET loop or two FDnet/C-NET loops. The line
separators are placed between the sub-stub connections
and have an ID number.
A housing is available to protect the multi line separator
module from environmental influences and to improve the
protection category.
Preparation
The installation procedure depends on the place of use
and type of installation of the multi line separator module.
1. Define the place of use.
– Installation outside intermediate distributor or control
panel (multi line separator module preferably in
housing FDCH221)
– Installation in intermediate distributor or control panel
(any type of multi line separator module installation)
2. Define the type of installation.
– On a plane surface (Fig. 2)
– Vertically or horizontally on a top hat rail (Fig. 3 or
Fig. 4)
– In housing FDCH221 (Fig. 6)
Installation on a plane surface
1. Position multi line separator module on a plane surface
(Fig. 2).
2. Use two screws to secure multi line separator module.
Installation on a top hat rail (vertically or horizontally)
1. Insert two mounting feet into multi line separator
module (Fig. 3 or Fig. 4).
2. Press multi line separator module and mounting feet
against top hat rail until the feet snap in.
Installation in housing
1. Open housing (Fig. 7).
2. Determine cable entries in housing and break them
open.
3. Use two screws to fit the housing on a plane surface
(Fig. 5).
4. Secure the M20 cable glands on the housing and guide
in the cables.
5. Use two M3 x 12 screws to fit the multi line separator
module in the housing (Fig. 6).
6. Close housing using supplied screws (Fig. 7).

Fire Safety
Electrical connection
NOTICE
Incorrect polarity and contact security
Defect in multi line separator module or open line
· When connecting to detector line, note the
positive and negative connections.
· Note bare lengths (Fig. 8).
· Only connect one wire per terminal.
NOTICE
Incorrect use
Devices on sub-stub are possibly not detected by
fire control panel.
· Only connect one sub-stub between two FDnet/
C-NET devices in the FDnet/C-NET loop.
· If you need to connect more than one sub-stub
always connect a line separator between the sub-
stubs.
1. Select operating mode of multi line separator module
and connect cables to terminals as shown in
connection diagram:
– 1-loop operation: Fig. 10
– 2-loop operation: Fig. 11
2. If you are using shielded cables for the detector line,
connect the shielding to the DBZ1190-AB connection
terminal. The shielding must not touch any external
ground potentials or metal parts.
3. Insert jumpers J1...J4 according to operating mode of
multi line separator module (Fig. 10 or Fig. 11).
4. Stick tear-off labels on system documentation and
remove all unused tear-off labels from FDCL221-M
(Fig. 9).
