CAUSE

Hot or cold water supply
failure.

Strainers are blocked.

Strainers are blocked.

Fluctuating supply pres-
sures.

Hot and cold supplies are
reversed.

Non-return valves fouled.

Excessive water velocity.

Valve sized incorrectly.

RECTIFICATION

Restore inlet supplies and
check mix temperature.

Clean strainers.

Clean Strainers.

Install pressure regulating
valves.

Refit the valve with Hot/
Cold supplies fitted to the
correct connections.

Clean non-returns ensuring
debris is removed.

Reduce water velocity (best
achieved by fitting a pres-
sure regulating valve).

Check valve specifications
and ensure the appropriate
valve is used for required
flow.
