Read the tool manual and these instructions for the use of this accessory
with your tool.
USE ONLY TYPE 41/1A MASONRY CUTTING WHEELS
Wheel guard must be attached when using type 41/1A cutting wheels.
Use only with type 41/1A cutting wheels. Always keep guard between you
and your work while cutting. Wear eye, dust and ear protection. Always use side handle.
TOOL PREPARATION (Fig. A)
Disconnect plug from power source. Com-
pletely unscrew the four screws and rotate the
tool head carefully to the new position with-
out removing it from the housing. For paddle
switch tools, switch should face "down" to-
wards work surface. For slide switch tools,
slide should face "up" towards user, so the tool
can be used for long masonry cutting applica-
tions. Screw in and tighten the four screws
again.
Return tool head to orig-
inal position when re-
turning to grinding, sanding, brushing or
metal cutting applications.
DUST COLLECTION GUARD INSTALLATION
• To attach DISCONNECT tool from the power
source. The GA50UC is designed to fit over
BOSCH 5" grinding guards. Please make sure
a BOSCH grinding guard is securely installed
before beginning to install the GA50UC cut-
ting guard. Once the grinding guard is in-
stalled, install the Type 41/1A Cutting wheel
(Fig. B).
• Depress red button ➊ and hold while pulling
the top half of the guard completely free of
the bottom half of the guard ➋ (Fig. C).
• Flip guard over and slide the guard clip com-
pletely clear of the inside of the top half of the
guard (Fig. D).
• Align the grinder and metal grinding guard in
the same orientation as the diagram. Make
sure to put the back end of the grinder guard
in first, sliding it under the blue plastic tab.
Next, make sure to seat the front half of the
grinder guard between the plastic "S" rib and
the guard wall (Fig. E).

• Grinder and grinder guard should sit flat in
the cutting guard if secured correctly (Fig. F).
• Slide the guard clip back into position as
shown in the diagram (Fig. G).
• Once grinder and grinder guard are secured
with the guard clip, close the cutting guard
by depressing the red button and sliding the
upper guard into the bottom guard until the
guard is completely closed (Fig. H).
• Once the guard has been completely shut
you may now select the depth of cut you wish
to make. All measurements are in millimeters
(Fig. I).
• Attach the dust port adapter to the tool by
lining up the correct size slots on the adapter
with the corresponding pegs on the guard.
Once aligned twist port 120 degrees to the
right (Fig. J).
• Attach vacuum hose to the dust port adapter
(Fig. K).
