ALARM SETTINGS

Alarm (o2F):
The Alarm can be set in several useful ways:

None: no alarms.

HAL / LAL: With AL (threshold) set at a specific temperature (ca. 300°C), the alarm will activate
when the process temperature crosses that value.

bAL: Interprets AL (threshold) as a ±tolerance compared to the setpoint. If AL is set to 10, then
the alarm will activate whenever process temperature is not between (setpoint - AL) and (setpoint
+ AL), whatever the setpoint is set to.

dHA / dLA (deviation high/low): If set to dHA, with AL (threshold) set at some value, the alarm
will activate when the process temperature goes above (setpoint + AL), or if set to dLA, with AL
(threshold) set at some value, the alarm will activate when the process temperature goes below
(setpoint + AL) . For example, set as dHA, and AL set to 5, the alarm will activate when the
temperature goes above (setpoint + 5). For another example, if set to dLA, and AL set to -5, the
alarm will activate when the temperature goes below (setpoint - 5). AL can be positive or negative.
Alarm Function (ALF):
This device's alarm is indicated visually by the AL and OUT2 LEDs, as well as by a buzzer. The alarm
settings are accessed under the Alarm Function (ALF) keyword. The three available alarm settings are:

AL - Automatic reset Alarm - When an alarm is triggered, the alarm automatically disengages once
the temperature returns within bounds.

ALn - Latched Alarm - When an alarm is triggered, the alarm will remain engaged until it is
manually reset. To manually reset the alarm, press and hold both the (U) and (P) buttons for 5
seconds. This alarm will not automatically disengage.

ALA - Acknowledgeable alarm - When an alarm is triggered, the alarm can be acknowledged and
disengaged by pressing and holding both the (U) and (P) buttons for 5 seconds. The alarm also
automatically disengages once the temperature returns within bounds.

On PID Control

This controller's PID parameters can be input manually or Autotuned. Autotune will always enable and
adjust all three PID parameters. To start Autotune, press and hold the (U) button until the
"Tun" (Autotune) LED starts to flash.
If SEn parameter is changed to use different units (for example, °C to °F), PID values will also need to
be updated. Adjust manually or with Autotune.
When Autotune is started, the controller will try for up to 12 hours before giving up, and displaying AtE
(Autotune Error). The controller may have trouble completing an Autotune when it is already at its
setpoint temperature.
