The pressure is checked periodically by Invia Liberty and kept constant.
The set pressure is the same as the pressure of the entire system including the patient.
The adjustable pressure range of Invia Liberty is -60 to -200 mmHg.
Tubing sets
The tubing set is packaged in a sterile bag. The tubing is comprised of two sections: the
smaller tubing regulates the pressure and the larger tubing removes the fluid from the wound
into the canister. A hydrophobic overflow protection / bacteria filter in the tubing base prevents
the contamination of the measuring area sector of Invia Liberty.
Tube flushing
Air flushing of the tubing occurs automatically every 5 minutes and prevents clogging of the
patient tubing.
Safety chamber in the canister
For appropriate, safe operation Invia Liberty must remain in an upright position during use.
If Invia Liberty tips, the special construction of the safety chamber in the upper region of the
canister protects the hydrophobic filter from premature clogging. The pressure is maintained.
Important: set Invia Liberty upright again.
When the canister is full and Invia Liberty tips over, this function is made inoperative, since the
secretions will flow into the safety chamber and clog up the hydrophobic overflow protection/
bacteria/odor filter. In this case, the pressure is interrupted and an alarm will sound.
The canister must be replaced.
