7.3 Putting into operation
Personal injury and property damage from electrostatic charge
During the ignition process and when welding, the surroundings and individuals may become
electrostatically charged. When earthed objects or devices are touched, this built-up voltage is
discharged. Electrostatic discharge occurs.
• Do not touch any metal parts in or on the device during the ignition phase.
• Connect the ABIDRIVE only to properly earthed power sockets.
• Operate the ABIDRIVE only with an intact connection lead with a protective conductor and safety
• Only place the welding torch on insulated materials when it is in use.
