Certain operators require the data connection to be activated using a protocol which is different to the
standard expected by the receiver. This condition which will be confirmed by the receiver showing the
indication [REQ] for one to two minutes on the display before closing the call. A different protocol can
be set as follows:
• Enter function "A) SIGNAL" where the signal status for the telephone network is shown.
• Press and hold down
• On the area of the display normally occupied by the numbers the indication of the modality chosen
for the connection will be accompanied by a beep. The indication "SWAP0" means standard protocol
will be used while "SWAP1" indicates an alternative protocol.
• Switch the receiver off and on to make the new setting active.
MENU: CONNECTION
This setting establishes which numbers are to be enabled for the data connection. The default setting
is ANYBODY which allows all numbers to access the connection even if they haven't already been
associated with a channel. If you set the value to 'ADDRESS BOOK' only numbers that are present in
the address book, shown by 'REMOTE' in the name field, will be accepted. This filter will limit access to
a limited number of specific callers.
To modify the value, enter the CONNECTION menu, select the value and press
buttons scroll through the settings until the desired value appears on the display. Press the
to confirm the selection, this will be saved in memory and immediately activated. Press
the procedure and return to the CONNECTION menu without changing the settings.
MENU: ACTIVATION
This setting allows global channel activation by means of direct dialing. If you choose ENABLED, a
telephone call by a number that is present in the address book will be able to activate the enabled out-
puts. If you choose DISABLED activation via direct dialling will be disabled and the outputs can only be
activated via a radio command or an SMS.
The numbers present in the address book will simultaneously activate all the channels that have been
associated with them in the address book. The channels have the following acronyms: "CHA", "CHB",
"CHC", "CHD". For example, If you wish to activate the channels A-B and D simultaneously the following
acronym: "CHACHBCHD" should be inserted into the number field.
Attention! Direct association of the telephone number to the receiver only allows you to set one channel.
The other channels can be added by modifying the SIM address book using a normal telephone apparatus.
To modify the value go to the ACTIVATION menu and press
the settings until the desired value appears on the display. Confirm the value on the display by pressing
which will save it in memory and make it immediately available. To cancel the operation press
ENT
and you will be returned to the ACTIVATION menu without saving the modification.
MENU: SIM ADDRESS BOOK
This menu contains the SIM address book management functions which are used to memorise the
numbers of the user who can direct dial or activate a data connection. The maximum number of users
depends on the capacity of the SIM.
