STRUCTURAL
REQUIREMENTS
1. Install a 2-in. x 8-in. wooden support
directly above and centered over the
cooktop. Securely fasten this support to
ceiling joists or second story floor joists. It
must be capable of supporting the weight
of the hood. Fig. 4.
2. After the ceiling is finished, center the
mounting template over the cooktop with
"FRONT" toward the user. Fig. 5.
3. Mark and drill (6) 1/8-in. diameter holes
through the ceiling material and into the
support frame.
3. Mark and drill a hole through the finished
ceiling material (and support frame as
necessary) for the electrical supply cable.
INSTALL DOWNROD
ASSEMBLY
1. Remove (2) screws from the decorative
ceiling cover and lower the cover to gain
access to the wiring box and mounting
bolts. Fig. 6.
2. Use (6) hex head lag bolts and (6) wash-
ers (provided) to fasten the downrod as-
sembly to the ceiling. Fig. 7.
