Instruction for Use
Thanks for buying Philips LivingColors.
LivingColors has been especially designed to create your own ambiance
at home, through colour and light.
Using LivingColors for the fi rst time, please read these instructions
very carefully and save them for future reference. By following our
guidelines, you will enjoy the full functionality of Philips LivingColors.
Important:
-
Carefully remove the parts from the packaging.
-
Check whether all parts are available.
-
Check the connections.
Getting started:
1.
Open the battery compartment of the remote control
by sliding the button at the back. Insert 3 AAA batteries (+ and –
as indicated) (drawing a)
2.
Place LivingColors at a selected location on a fl at and
stable surface.
3.
Direct LivingColors towards the wall, insert the
connection plug into the lamp (drawing b.), and then plug it into
the wall socket. LivingColors will show a short introduction of
the colour possibilities (this is normal).
4.
Switch on LivingColors by pushing on the I (on) on the
on/off button placed on the remote control (drawing c).
5.
Create your own ambiance by:
-
Touching the desired colour on the colour ring. You can move
your fi nger over the colour ring to refi ne the colour (drawing d)
-
Changing the colour saturation. Push on the white balance but-
ton, for a shorter or longer time, on A ( ) for a deep colour or
on B ( ) for more pastel colours. Ultimately you will reach the
white colour (drawing e).
-
Dimming. Increase (
the dimming button (drawing f).
6.
Switch off LivingColors by pushing the "0" (off) on the
on/off button. LivingColors will remember the last setting for
your next usage (drawing c).
Extend the LivingColors possibilities:
1.
Linking LivingColors lamps together
You can operate 2 (or more) LivingColors with one remote control. Up
to 6 LivingColors can be linked together. The LivingColors lamps will
then project the same colour.

Hold the remote with a fi nger on the "I" button, close to the
Philips brand on the front of LivingColors.
-
LivingColors will fl ash 3 times, as a confi rmation, for being
connected.
-
Repeat this operation for each LivingColors that you want to
link with the others.
To use the LivingColors separately again, you can undo a LivingColors
by linking it to another remote control.
-
Hold the remote with a fi nger on the "I" button, in front of the
LivingColors that you want to undo, close to the Philips brand
on the front of LivingColors.
-
This LivingColors will fl ash 3 times, as a confi rmation, for being
connected with the new remote control.
2.
Automatic colour changing mode
You can push on "I" for 5 seconds; LivingColors will then turn into
the automatic colour changing mode. To switch back to normal mode,
switch off "0" and on "I" again (drawing c).
Fault tracing:
1.
LivingColors is not providing light.
Remote control:
-
Check the batteries in the remote control. The batteries should
be rightly placed (+ and -) and should be loaded.

The remote control might not be linked with the lamp anymore.
To link your remote control to the lamp again: hold the remote
with a fi nger on the "I" button, close to the Philips brand on
the front of LivingColors. LivingColors will fl ash 3 times, as a
confi rmation, for being connected.
Adaptor:

Check the connections of the cord to the lamp.
-
Check the plug.
2.
LivingColors doesn't respond quickly to the remote control.
-
The communication between the remote control and the
LivingColors can be affected by heavy traffi c on a wireless data
network, for example a wireless router. You should move Living-
Colors away from the wireless access point and switch your
wireless router to channels 8-11 for minimum interference.
3.
LivingColors is still not working up to standards
-
Contact the Philips Lighting Contact center (also see Warranty
and Service).
Cleaning and maintenance:
Remove the plug from the wall socket.
To avoid scratching, LivingColors, the remote control and the plug
should only be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
Do not use cleaning agents.
Safety instructions:
Keep the plug and LivingColors away from liquids and humidity.

LivingColors is for indoor use only. Do not use in wet locations,
e.g. bathrooms or outdoor.
-
LivingColors is not a toy designed to be played with by children.
-
Do not place on hot surfaces.
-
For safety reasons and under the term of the warranty, the
LivingColors and plug must not be opened.
-
Only use the plug supplied: using the wrong plug with the wrong
polarity or current can damage your LivingColors.
Environment:
If you discard the appliance in due course, dispose of it in accordance
with the instructions of the local authority. Remove the batteries when
you discard the remote control. Do not throw the batteries away
with normal household waste. They must be handed in at an
offi cial collection point or at a Philips Dealer, both of which will
dispose of the batteries in an environmental friendly way.

Warranty:
Philips one's year warranty is valid if the product is used in accordance
with the instructions and for its intended purpose. Claims will only be
accepted on submission of the original proof of purchase (invoice, sales
slip or receipt) stating the purchase date, the name of the dealer and a
description of the product.
The Philips warranty lapses if:
-
Anything has been changed, crossed out, deleted or rendered
illegible on the purchase docket or product description.
-
Failures caused by damage, faulty connections or abuse.
-
A defect is caused by extreme circumstances not inherent to
the LivingColors, for example, lighting, fl ooding, fi re, incorrect
use or negligence.

The LivingColors has been opened or disassembled.
