Purpose
The JuzoPro Genu Soft stabilises the knee joint using
two rigid, padded guidance splints that are joined
together with textile straps and a textile surface in
a way that allows for adaptability. These splints are
placed on the sides of the joint. The degree of the
extension and flexion movement, i. e. how much the
knee can be bent or extended, can be adjusted.
This is how to put on your JuzoPro Genu Soft
correctly:
1. Open all the straps on the front as well as the zip-
per on the back of the orthosis. Please do not open
the touch fasteners of the straps on the back of
your orthosis. These determine the final position
of the knee joints and should be adjusted by a
technician.
2. Now pull the JuzoPro Genu Soft over your foot
and up to above your knee until you can see your
kneecap in the middle of the circular opening. The
zipper must be at the bottom part of the back, the
two splints left and right in the middle of your knee
joint (Fig. 1).
3. Now close the zipper on the back and then the
straps. Sequence: initially, the first strap right un-
der the knee, then the second strap below that and
lastly, the thigh strap (Fig. 2).
The correct fit of the orthosis assured when it enclos-
es the leg tightly but does so without exerting a too
strong (painful) pressure and your knee can move
smoothly, provided it does not need to be secured for
medical reasons.
You can re-adjust the orthosis at any time by repeat-
ing Step 3.
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier.
The effectiveness of the orthosis can only be realized
if it is applied correctly. Should the product become
damaged, please consult your specialist supplier. Do
not repair the orthosis yourself – this could compro-
mise its quality and medical efficacy. For hygienic rea-
sons and as your orthosis is an individually tailored
product, it is not suitable for use by more than one
patient.
Washing and care instructions
Please note the care instructions on the textile label
of your JuzoPro Genu Soft. Close all touch fasteners
and the zipper. Now open the strap at the back and
the upper parts of the touch fasteners on the splint
pockets. The two splints can now be removed from
the pockets. Handwash the orthosis fabric with laun-
dry detergent for delicate fabrics at approx. 30 °C. We
recommend using gentle Juzo special detergent for
this. Wash the orthosis fabric separately the first time
(colour may run). Then rinse it well, loosely hang up
your JuzoPro Genu Soft and leave it to dry at room
temperature. Do not wring it. You can reduce the
drying time by placing the orthosis fabric on a thick
towel, rolling the towel up tightly and firmly pressing
out excess moisture before hanging the orthosis up.
Do not leave the product in the towel and do not dry it
on a radiator or in the sun. Please re-insert the splints
into the pockets only when the orthosis has dried
completely. Please note that they must be replaced in
exactly the way they were removed. Close the touch
fastener at the back only when you next put on the
orthosis. Please note that the two splints must be on
the left and right in the middle of your knee joint. This
Juzo product must not be dry-cleaned.
