– do not leave the unit exposed to adverse weather conditions (rain, sunshine, etc.), unless the
unit has been expressly designed to be so exposed
– do not allow children or inexperienced people to use the unit.
– The unit supply cable shall not be replaced by the user.
In case the cable gets damaged, switch off the unit and refer to qualified personnel only.
– If the unit is to remain idle for some time, the electric switch supplying all power-operated system components
(such as pumps, burner, etc.) shall be disconnected.
3b. GAS, LIGHT OIL OR OTHER FUELS
General warnings
– The burner shall be installed by professionally qualified personnel, in compliance with the current rules and
regulations. Improper installation may cause injury or damage to people, animals or property. The manufactu-
rer shall not be held liable for any such injury or damage.
– All fuel supply system pipes shall be accurately cleaned inside, before installing the unit, to remove any impu-
rities that might impair the burner proper operation.
– When first commissioning the burner, ask professionally qualified personnel to do the following:
a) check the fuel supply system, both inside and outside, for leaks;
b) make sure that the fuel flow rate has been set consistently with the burner firing rate;
c) make sure that the fuel being fed to the burner is of the type for which the burner has been desi-
gned;
d) make sure that the fuel supply pressure is included within the range shown on the unit data
plate;
e) make sure that the fuel supply system is correctly dimensioned for the required flow rate and
that it is fitted with all safety and control devices required by the current regulations.
– When the burner is to remain idle for some time, the fuel supply cock or cocks should be closed.
Special warnings for the use of gas
– Ask professionally qualified personnel to make sure that:
a) the gas supply line and the gas line accessory equipment are in compliance with the rules and regulations in
force;
b) all gas connections are sealed;
c) the boiler room ventilation openings are dimensioned in such a way that the air inflow is in compliance with the
current regulations and sufficient to ensure proper combustion.
d) The transformation from a family gas (Natural Gas or liquid gas) into another family gas has to be effected by
qualified personnel only.
– Do not use gas pipes for earthing electrical equipment.
– Do not leave the burner ON when the unit is not being used. Always turn off the gas valve.
– In case the user of the unit should stay away for long periods, turn off the main valve supplying gas to the bur-
ner.
– If gas is smelt:
a) do not operate electric switches or telephone or any other item likely to originate sparks;
b) immediately open doors and windows to create a draught that purifies the air in the room;
c) turn off the gas valves;
d) ask professionally qualified personnel for assistance.
– Do not obstruct the ventilation openings in the room where a gas unit is installed to prevent hazardous condi-
tions from setting in, such as the generation of toxic or explosive mixtures.
