2. SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR BURNERS
BURNERS
– The burner shall be installed in a suitable room with ventilation openings in compliance with the regulations in
force and sufficient to obtain a perfect combustion.
– Only burners designed in compliance with the regulations in force shall be used.
– This burner shall be employed only in the application for which it is expressly intended.
– Before the burner is connected to mains, make sure that the unit rating is the same as the supply systems'
(power, gas, oil or other fuel).
– Avoid contact with hot burner surfaces. Such surfaces, usually located near the flame and the fuel pre-heating
system, if any, become heated during operations and remain hot for some time after the burner has been put out.
– When the burner is to be finally decommissioned, ask professionally qualified personnel to do the following:
a) disconnect the unit from mains by removing the master switch supply cable.
b) cut off the fuel supply by turning the manual fuel cut-off valve. Remove the control wheels from their seats.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
– Make sure that the burner has been safely secured to the heat generator, so that the flame is generated insi-
de the generator combustion chamber.
– Before the burner is started and, in any case, at least once a year, ask qualified personnel to do the following:
a) Set the burner fuel flow rate according to the firing rate required by the heat generator.
b) Adjust the combustion air flow to obtain a combustion efficiency at least equal to the lowest
value required by the current regulations.
c) Control the fuel combustion to prevent the generation of any harmful or polluting unburned
gases beyond the limits permitted by the current regulations.
d) Make sure that safety and control devices are working properly.
e) Make sure that the products-of-combustion exhaust duct is in proper working conditions.
f) On completing all adjustment and setting operations, make sure that all adjusting device
mechanical locks have been properly tightened.
g) Make sure that the instructions manual on the burner use and maintenance is kept in the boiler
room.
– In case the burner repeatedly shuts down, do not attempt to manually reset the unit. Contact professionally
qualified personnel to correct the malfunction.
– The unit shall be operated and serviced by professionally qualified personnel only, in compliance with the cur-
rent regulations.
3. GENERAL WARNINGS DEPENDING ON TYPE OF FIRING
3a) ELECTRIC POWER
– The unit electric safety is achieved only when the burner is properly connected to a safe earthing system,
installed as provided by the safety regulations in force.
This essential safety requirement should be carefully verified. In case of doubt, ask qualified personnel to
accurately inspect the installation. The manufacturer shall not be held liable for damages resulting from failure
to earth the unit.
Ask qualified personnel to check that the electric system is adequate for the unit rated input shown on its data
plate, making sure in particular that the system wire gauge is suitable for the unit rated power input.
– No adapters, multiple sockets and/or extensions shall be used to connect the unit to mains.
A multipolar switch with an opening between contacts of at least 3 mm. shall be provided to connect the unit
to mains, in compliance with the safety regulations in force.
– The use of any component operating on electric power implies that some basic rules are observed, such as
the following:
– never touch the unit with wet or damp parts of the body and/or barefooted
– do not pull electric cables
