TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBABLE CAUSE
Thermostat knob is OFF.
When applicable detergent valve
is open, but detergent hose is not
completely submerged in solution.
(This causes safety devices to shut
down burner.)
Poor or improper fuel supply.
Dirty or clogged fuel filter or fuel
water separator.
Low fuel pump pressure.
Dirty or clogged fuel nozzle.
Improper burner air adjustment.
Scale build up in heat exchanger
coil.
Water in the fuel oil.
Dirty fuel filter or fuel water separato. Replace element.
Dirty fuel nozzle.
Improper air adjustment setting.
Fuel pump malfunctioning.
Low on fuel.
Excessive air supply.
Insufficient air supply.
REMEDY
Check thermostat knob position.
Close valve, or completely clear vinyl hose
into detergent solution.
Check fuel to ensure it is correct. Drain tank
and filter if necessary and refill with proper
fuel.
Drain or replace as necessary.
Check fuel pump pressure, adjust or replace
if needed.
Replace fuel nozzle.
Adjust.
Consult the Service Department.
Replace fuel filter or drain fuel water separa-
tor, drain fuel tank and replace with clean
fuel.
Replace.
Adjust.
Replace.
Refuel. If white smoke persists consult the
Service Department.
