Switching on the main switch

1. To start the engine, put the main switch into the "battery
connected" position.
2. When the vehicle is parked, put the main switch into the
"battery disconnected" position.
7.2
Safety check
DANGER
Risk of accidents and injuries!
Do not start up the vehicle when one item of the safety
check is not fulfilled; make sure the item is repaired.
Check the operational and traffic safety of the vehicle be-
fore driving.
1. Check the cleanliness of the hydraulic couplings
2. Check the hydraulic lines for leaks
3. Check the hydraulic oil level
4. Check the engine oil level
5. Check the coolant level
6. Check the coolant for sufficient antifreeze if a danger of
frost exists
Antifreeze in the appropriate concentration generally
belongs in the cooling circuit (not in the expansion res-
ervoir).
7. Check the electrical cables for damage
8. Check that all nuts and bolts are securely seated
9. Check the vehicle, engine and radiator grille for damage
10.Check the fluid level in the wiping water container
Check the detergent and frost protection, if applicable
11.Check the tyres for damage, filling pressure and wear
and tear
In the vehicle
12.Check all pedals for ease of movement
13.Are the working hydraulics (PTO) switched off?
14.With the ignition switched on: Do the charge indicator
and oil pressure warning lights light up?
Start the engine and check the following:
15.Do the charge indicator and oil pressure warning lights
go out?
16.Are the temperature indicator and fuel level indicator
functioning?
17.Are the lighting system, travel direction indicator and
flasher system functioning correctly?
18.MDC variant only (Mechanic Drive Drain Control)
Check the neutral position of the accelerator pedal:
a Drive the vehicle forwards and backwards; when re-
leasing the pedal, the vehicle must stop in any direc-
tion.

Setting the driver's seat (standard seat)

Only adjust the driver's seat when the device is standing.

1. Adjust the driver's seat so that the pedals and steering
wheel are easily reached.
2. Bring the left arm rest to the desired position.
3. Bring the right arm rest to the desired position.
4. Adjust the driver's seat to suit the weight of the driver so
that vibration from road irregularities are minimised.
