SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. These precautions are intended for the personal safety of the operator and others workingwith the operator.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in a permanent loss of vision,serious personal or even fatal injury,
property damage, and/or tool damage. Please take thetime to read and understand them.
2. Battery acid is corrosive. Do not spill on skin, clothing, or battery charger. Wear eye and head protection when
working with battery. Connect and disconnect DC output terminals only after removing the charger from the AC
outlet. Never allow the DC terminals to touch each other.
3. To avoid danger of fire or explosion, keep sparks and flame (pilot light) away from battery.
4. Keep battery charger and battery box off of the floor and in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
5. NOTICE: If a Carbon Monoxide (CO) sensor is installed, it must be at least 15 feet away from battery charger
in order to avoid nuisance CO alarms. Please refer to your CO detector's installation guidelines for more
information.
6. Do not lift pump by power cord.
7. Do not touch an operating motor housing. The motor is designed to operate at high temperatures.
8. Do not pump flammable or explosive liquids such as oil, gasoline, kerosene, ethanol, etc. Do not use in the
presence of flammable or explosive vapors. Using this pump with or near flammable liquids can cause an
explosion or fire, resulting in property damage, serious personal injury and/or death.
9. Do not disassemble the motor housing. The motor has NO repairable internal parts, and disassembling it may
cause dangerous electrical wiring issues.
10. This pump is made of high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials. It will provide trouble-free service for a long
time when properly installed, maintained, and used. However, inadequate electrical power to the pump, dirt, or
debris may cause the pump to fail. Please carefully read the manual and follow the instructions regarding
common pump problems and remedies.
11. Know the pump applications, limitations, and potential hazards.
12. Ensure the electrical power source is adequate for the requirements of the pump.
13. ALWAYS disconnect the power to the pump before servicing.
14. Release all pressure and drain all water from the system before servicing any component.
15. Secure discharge line before starting pump. An unsecured discharge line will possibly cause personal injury
and/or property damage.
16. Wear safety glasses at all times when working with pumps.
17. Follow your local electrical and safety codes.
18. Failure to comply with instruction and designed operation of this unitmay void warranty. ATTEMPTING TO
USE A DAMAGED PUMP can result property damage, serious personal injury and/or death.
