Inspection & Pre-use Checks
A thorough visual inspection should be carried out on all products before use. This inspection should

Note: If, during inspection, any part of the fall arrest system is deemed to be faulty, it must be
removed from service and destroyed. Repairs, modifications or alterations must not be carried out on
any of these products.
Note: All Silverline harnesses and lanyards are designed to arrest a fall from height ONCE ONLY.

Maintenance, Cleaning & Storage
• Silverline harnesses, lanyards and work positioning belts should be stored in their original
packaging away from sources of humidity, sunlight and direct heat
• Webbing products may be cleaned in water not exceeding 40°C, using a mild,
pH-neutral detergent
• Allow the product to dry naturally before storage (DO NOT force dry)
Rescue Plan
• As part of the risk assessment you MUST have in place a rescue plan before working at height, to
deal with any emergency that may arise
