General Safety Information
Information on noise emission in accordance with
"Machine Noise Information Ordinance 3. GPSGV
and Machinery Directives: The sound pressure level
at the workplace can exceed 85 dB (A). In this case,
appropriate protective measures must be taken by are
user (e.g. wear hearing protection).

regulations when starting up the machine
Attention: The following fundamental safety measures
must be observed when using electrical tools as
protection against electric shock, injury and the risk of
fire. Read and observe all of these instructions before
using this electrical tool. Keep the safety instructions in
a safe place.
Intended Use
The garden shredder has been designed for private
use and is suitable for shredding organic materials in
the household and garden (branches; boughs; hedge
cuttings etc.). The shredder may only be used when at a
standstill on the ground. Any other use is not permitted.
This machine is with fitted with a braking function, which
brakes the cutting tool within a few seconds when the
machine is switched off; or the locking screw is loosened;
of the mains cable is removed and if there are any mains
faults. This function has been developed as protection
against contact with the cutting tool during intentional or
unexpected opening of the housing.
The garden shredder is fitted with a overload protection,
which automatically switches off the machine within a
short space of time if the cutting tool becomes blocked.

A. General Information
1. The user is responsible for third parties in the working
area of the machine.
2. Young people under the age of 16 and persons under
the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications must
not use the shredder.

3. Only pass on (lend) the shredder to people who are
familiar with handling it. Always ensure you give them
the instructions for use too!
4. Only use the shredder for its intended purpose. Read
and observe the information given on the machine.
5. Only equipment /accessories supplied by the supplier
or explicitly released for attachment to this machine
may be used. No modifications may be made as
these can lead to an increased risk of accidents.
6. When using the machine, always wear gloves, safety
goggles and hearing protection. When shredding
materials which produce a lot of dust, wear face pro-
tection or a facemask!
7. When working with the shredder, you should always
wear suitable clothing. This means close fitting
work clothing, firm gloves and heeled shoes with a
gripping sole.
8. The machine must be set up in a stable position on
firm and even ground.
9. Only work in well-lit conditions. Preclude risk to
others by taking the necessary precautions.
10. Protect the machine against penetrating liquids (e.g.
rain). Do not shred in the open when it is raining.
B. Instructions for Use
11. Before starting work, always ensure that you check
that the shredder is functioning perfectly and check its
prescribed, safe operating condition. The connection
and extension cable, mains plug, switch and cutting
tool are particularly important.
12. When switching on the motor the shredder must
be properly connected. Safety equipment must be
used and must not be altered. Check whether the
filler funnel has been properly fastened. If necessary
tighten the screws.
13. Always switch off the machine when working on the
cutting tool; disconnect the plug from the mains and
wait until the cutting tool has come to a complete stop.
Risk of injury!
14. Only connect the machine via a residual current
circuit breaker with a max. tripping current of 30 mA.
