Directions for use
Important safety information
For your own protection from injuries and electric shocks, the following information must be observed when using electrical
equipment:
Read all the instructions before using the appliance!
· Only use the Horseline products to clip horses' coats.
· Only connect connector transformer to alternating current. Note the nominal voltage specified on the type plate.
· Never touch electrical equipment that has fallen into water. Disconnect from the mains immediately.
· Never use electrical equipment in the bath or shower.
· Always position or store electrical equipment where it cannot fall into water (e.g. wash basin). Avoid electrical equipment
coming into contact with water and other liquids.
· Only connect battery pack to mains to recharge in dry areas.
· Apart from when charging, always disconnect mains connector once device is no longer being used.
· Disconnect from the mains before cleaning the equipment.
· This appliance is not suitable for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or who
do not have the relevant experience or knowledge of using such appliance, unless under the supervision of or after hav-
ing received instruction in the use of the appliance by an individual who is responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
· Only use the equipment for the proper purpose described in the operating instructions
· Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
· Never use the device if the power cable or connector transformer is damaged. In addition, do not use the equipment if it
is not working correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. In these cases, send the equipment to our Service
Centre for inspection and repair. Only specialists properly trained in the handling of electrotechnical devices may repair
electrical equipment.
· Do not hold the appliance by the mains cable to carry it, and do not use the cable as a handle.
· Keep the mains cable away from hot surfaces.
· Make sure that the cable is not twisted or kinked when storing.
· Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the equipment.
· Never use the equipment where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is released.
· Only use genuine battery pack with temperature protection.
· A charging period of 3 hours is needed before first starting up.
· To protect against injury, never use the equipment if the cutting set is damaged.
· The equipment is safety-insulated and radio-screened. It meets the requirements of EU Directive 2004/108/EC regarding
electromagnetic compatibility and EC Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.
Used batteries do not belong in household waste.
D ispose of used batteries in line with statutory rulings.
NiMH
Operation
Before each use, always check the lubrication of the cutting set. If necessary apply lubricating oil. When clipping
horses' coats for long periods of time, the cutting set must be cleaned and re-oiled at intervals.
Only connect device to battery pack once switched off.
Switch the equipment off after use and disconnect from the mains.
Charging battery pack
A separate battery pack supplies the horse clipper with power.
· This should be charged for approx. 3 hours before first starting up.
· Disconnect device from battery pack.
· Plug device plug connector of connector transformer into charging bush (IN) of battery pack (Fig. 1a).
· Plug connector transformer into socket (Fig. 1b). The charge monitoring display (I) on battery pack lights up.
· Once charging process is complete, charge monitoring display (I) on battery pack starts to flash.
· It should take around 3 hours for the appliance to charge to full capacity if the battery is empty.
· Once the battery pack has been fully charged, the horse clipper can then be used for more than 2.5 hours. This capacity
is reached after approx. 5 charging cycles.
Operation
· Put on carrier belt. You can use the simple fastening clip to secure the battery pack to the belt. The horse clipper can be
placed in the pocket provided for this purpose.
· Plug horse clipper plug connector into bush (OUT) of battery pack (Fig. 2).
· Use the on/off button to switch on the device (Fig. 3).
· After use, always switch device off (Fig. 3).

Replacing the cutting set
Only replace a blunt or damaged cutting set with an original spare part. Spare parts can be ordered through your dealer or
our Service Center.
Before replacing the cutting set, switch the equipment off.
Lubricate the new cutting set before attaching.
Removing the blade set
· Press the release button (C) (Fig. 4a) towards the blade set and lift the blade set out of the housing (Fig. 4b).
· Lift the blade set out of its clip (Fig. 4c) and ensure that the clip remains folded out.
Attaching the blade set
· The clip must remain unfolded (can be prised open with a flat-bladed screwdriver) (Fig. 5a).
· Attach the new blade set onto the clip (Fig. 5b).
· Important note: Now switch on the device (Fig. 3). Fold down the blade set towards the housing, with the device running,
until it locates with an audible click (Fig. 5c).
Cleaning / Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will guarantee long service life for the equipment.
Disconnect from the mains before cleaning the appliance. Never clean the appliance when wet.
Do not use solvents or scouring agents!
Cleaning the air filter
· Clean the air filter regularly to ensure the supply of air.
· Remove the filter cover (Fig. 6a) and clean the air filter with the cleaning brush.
· Reinsert the filter cover until it locks into position (Fig. 6b).
Cleaning and caring for the cutting set
· In order to maintain a good and long cutting performance and durability of the appliance, the blade set must be cleaned
and oiled regularly.
· Animal clippers should be cleaned and oiled every 15 minutes during use.
· Fold down the blade set (Fig. 4b) and push the top blade to the side (Fig. 7). Remove cut hairs from the bottom blade and
the top blade by using the cleaning brush (Fig. 8).
The top blade must not be pushed out completely!
The blade set must not be unscrewed.
· After cleaning, return the top blade to its initial position (Fig. 7).
· Oil the marked areas of the blade set with one drop of oil each (Fig. 8).
· The top blade should be aligned in the center of the bottom blade.
· Reattach the blade set as described above, and restart the appliance for approximately 10 seconds to ensure the oil film is
evenly distributed.
· Only use our special blade set oil! This is available from your dealer or our Service Center.
Cleaning the case
· Clean the housing with a soft cloth, which may be dampened slightly.
Disposal in EU countries
D o not dispose of the appliance with domestic refuse. As part of the EU Directive governing the disposal of electric
and electronic appliances, the appliance is accepted free of charge by local waste collection points or recycling cent-
ers. Correct disposal will ensure environment protection and prevent a potential harmful impact on people and the
environment.
Disposal in non-EU countries
· Please dispose of the appliance at the end of its service life in an environmentally friendly manner.
· The battery pack contains NiMH batteries. In the interests of environmental protection, at the end of their service life
please do not dispose of these with domestic waste.
· Switch the device on so that the batteries are fully discharged.
· Use a screwdriver to unfasten the screws in the battery pack cover (Fig. 9).
· Disconnect cable connections from batteries and take out batteries (Fig. 10).
· Supply batteries with an appropriate collecting point.
