(EN) Mounting:
1. Fasten the DIN rail (TH 35-15 or TH 35-7.5 acc. IEC/EN 60715) as shown in Fig. I on the mounting plate, horizontal
mounting position, input terminals on bottom, respect the minimum distance to other units (see Fig. I)
2. Snap on DIN rail as shown in Fig. II
1) Tilt the unit slightly upwards and fit the unit on the DIN rail
2) Lift it downward until it hits the stop
3) Press against the bottom front side for locking
Shake the unit slightly to check the locking
3. Remove the unit from the DIN rail as shown in Fig. III.
Electrical connection:
Input side
Connect the input terminals.
Cable cross sections, stripping length of the cable, tightening torque etc. - see technical data.
The protective earth conductor must be connected (class of protection I).
The installation must be executed acc. IEC/EN 60950-1, provide a suitable disconnecting device (e.g., line protection
switch) in the supply line.
Fuse protection of the input side - see technical data.
Output side
Rate the lines for the maximum output current or provide a separate fuse protection.
Fuse protection of the output side - see technical data.
We recommend choosing the cable cross section as large as possible in order to minimize voltage drops.
Observe the polarity.
The devices are overload, short-circuit and no-load proof (see characteristic curve).
The secondary side of the devices is electrically isolated from the input.
Connect the 'shield' terminal on the AS-i power supply to the machine ground so that the AS-i system is symmetrically
operated against this machine ground. This improves noise sensitivity in case of symmetrical interference on the AS-i
cable.
Operation/Function:
Indication of operational states, device-dependent
• Green LED "AS-I OK" on: Normal operation
• Red LED "IR ADDRESSING ON" on: Data communication on the AS-interface cable interrupted by means of the plug-in
jumper 2-3 (IR ADDRESSING MODE)
• Red LED "GROUND FAULT": Ground fault present or stored
• Red LED "OVERLOAD" flashing: Overload, short circuit or overtemperature
Plug-in jumper (fig. IV)
• "COMMUNICATION MODE" (1-2 jumpered): Regular power supply function
• "IR ADDRESSING MODE" (2-3 jumpered): Data communication on the AS-Interface cable is interrupted. IR addressing
of the slaves can be carried out.
Note: At initial commissioning of AS-Interface Slaves with IR Interface (default address 0) first switch off the power supply
unit, then change plug-in jumper position to 2-3. Turn the unit on again and address the slaves.
Operating without AS-Interface Slaves (laboratory test)
This AS-Interface power supply unit has an inductive output. When operating without AS-Interface slaves, put a 470 μF /
35 V capacitor between the output terminals "+" and "-" to avoid oscillations.
