To adjust harness strap assembly:
There are three possible height adjustment positions that
can be used to easily adjust harness.
 Slip top buckle of harness from adjustment slot and
position to desired height location.
 Tighten (pull down on strap) or loosen (lift up on tab of
strap buckle) each harness strap as needed, until each
is adjusted to a comfortable operating position.
 Chest strap should be tightened or loosened until adjusted
to a comfortable operating position.
To adjust waist strap assembly:
 Waist strap should be tightened or loosened until adjusted
to a comfortable operating position.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injection, do not point sprayer at
any part of the body or person. In case of skin injection,
seek medical attention immediately. Do not use without
spray tip in place.
MOTOR SWITCH
See Figure 4, page 12.
 To spray, set the switch in the forward position. In forward,
the machine moves the fluid from the tank into the sprayer.
 With the switch set in the reverse position, the machine
pulls the excess fluid back through the hose and into the
tank, leaving less fluid to clean up.
 In the center position, the unit is off.
USING THE SPRAY WAND
See Figure 5, page 12.
 To start the flow of liquid at the spray wand, depress the
trigger.
 To stop the flow of liquid at the spray wand, release the
trigger.
 To increase the flow of liquid from the spray wand, turn
the flow control knob counterclockwise.
 To decrease the flow of liquid from the spray wand, turn
the flow control knob clockwise.
LOCK-ON
See Figure 5, page 12.
The lock-on feature is convenient when spraying for an ex-
tended period of time or when covering a large area.
 To lock-on, turn on sprayer, depress the trigger and slide
the lock-on button forward.
 To release the lock-on, depress the trigger and slide the
lock-on button toward the handle.
NOTE: Make sure the trigger is not locked on before
inserting the battery pack into the sprayer.
OPERATION
SELECTING THE PROPER NOZZLE
See Figure 6, page 13.
To switch nozzles:
 Remove the battery pack from the backpack unit.
 Remove the installed nozzle by turning it counterclockwise.
 Install the desired nozzle and rotate clockwise to tighten
securely.
NOTE: The nozzle should be tightened securely by hand.
A too loose or overtightened nozzle may cause the sprayer
to leak or be damaged.
To change the spray pattern of the round nozzle:
 Slightly loosen the nozzle for a stream.
 Tighen the nozzle for a fan spray.
FILLING THE TANK
See Figure 7, page 13.
WARNING:
Always follow the chemical manufacturer's instructions
printed on their product labeling for use, cleaning, and
storage. Clean thoroughly after each use, following the
instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual.
Chemicals should be stored out of the reach of children.
Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury.
Liquids to be sprayed must be as thin as water. Thicker
liquids will not spray properly.
Do not overfill the tank.
 Remove battery pack, if installed.
 Open the lid of the backpack tank.
 Carefully pour up to 1.5 gallons of stain or approved
premixed chemical solution into the tank.
NOTE: Be sure to clean and rise container used for mixing
after use.
 Close the tank lid and press down firmly. Make sure the
intake tube and filter go all the way to the bottom of the
tank and the recirculating hose is also fully seated in the
tank.
SPRAYING STAIN OR SEALANT
See Figure 8, page 13.
 Ensure surface to be sprayed is free of dust, dirt, and
grease.
 Mask or cover any areas not intended to be sprayed. Be
aware of wind that may cause the spray to go into areas
not desired. Always use drop cloths or other cover to

Use the round nozzle in either stream or fan
mode for spraying consumer-grade home-and-
garden chemicals.
Use the flat nozzle when spraying stains or
sealants.
