protect areas that are not intended to be sprayed.
Fill the backpack tank with no more than 1.5 gallons of
stain or sealant.
Install the flat nozzle on the spray wand.
Install the battery pack in the backpack unit.
Prime the backpack unit:
• Place the motor switch in the forward position.
• Aim into a bucket and squeeze the trigger on the
sprayer to start fluid moving through the tubes.
• Once fluid is running through both the intake tube and
the return tube, the unit is primed.
Depress the spray wand trigger to spray. Release the
trigger to stop spray.
To create an even coating over the entire surface:
• Move your arm at a steady rate of speed and make
sure to move your entire arm, not just your wrist.
• Keep the sprayer an even distance from the area being
sprayed, which should be between 8 to 10 inches from
the tip of the sprayer to the surface being sprayed.
When finished, place the motor switch in the reverse
position to allow unused fluid to return to the backpack
tank. Then remove the battery pack, return any unused
fluid to its original container, and thoroughly clean the
sprayer.
CAUTION:
It is important to thoroughly clean the unit after each use.
Allowing liquid to remain in an idle tool for an extended
period may cause its moving pieces and connectors to
seize up.
WARNING:
Do not clean with any flammable liquids such as paint
stripper, paint remover, brush cleaner, mineral spirits, lac-
quer thinner, turpentine, acetone, gasoline, kerosene, etc.
OPERATION
SPRAYING HOME-AND-GARDEN CHEMICALS
See Figure 9, page 13.
Carefully pour up to 1.5 gallons of approved premixed
chemical solution into the tank.
Install the battery pack in the backpack unit.
Place the motor switch in the forward position.
Aim the sprayer nozzle directly at the plants or objects
you wish to spray.
NOTE: Make sure to stand far enough from the object
being sprayed to prevent the spray from splashing back
onto you.
Depress the trigger to start the spray.
Release the trigger to stop the spray.
When finished, place the motor switch in the reverse
position and depress the trigger to allow unused fluid to
return to the backpack tank. Then remove the battery
pack, return any unused fluid to its original container,
and thoroughly clean the sprayer.
Thoroughly wash your hands and any area where skin
has been exposed to the spray.
Thoroughly clean the backpack unit before storing or
before switching to a different chemical. See Cleaning
the Unit later in this manual.
OPERATING TIPS
Never point the spray end of the wand at yourself or
others.
Avoid spraying on windy days. Spray can be accidentally
blown onto plants or objects that should not be sprayed.
Never spray in the direction of people or animals; always
spray downwind.
Especially in warmer weather, spray in the early morning
or late afternoon. Excessive heat can evaporate the spray
before it settles.
Never smoke, eat, or drink while operating the sprayer.
