RANGE DISPLAY

When cameras and a lens with CPU are used, there is
a range indicator in the display. For this, data must
have been exchanged between the camera and flash
unit, e.g. by touching the camera shutter release. The
range can be displayed in meters (m) or feet (ft)
p. 78).
No range is displayed

value for the minimum and maximum range of the
flash light is displayed.
The displayed value refer to a reflection factor of 25%
of the subject, which applies to most photography
situations.
Strong deviations of the reflection factor, e.g. in the
case objects that reflect very well or very poorly, can
influence the range of the flash unit.
The object should be in the area of around 40% to
70% of the maximum range. This gives the electronics
sufficient scope to compensate.
To prevent overexposure, do not get any closer than
the minimum distance to the object shown in the
display.
Adjustment to the relevant photography situation can
be achieved by changing the lens aperture, for
example.
