Drilling holes in the edge
Tighten the stop ring in the hole at the edge of the template. Position the template on the work piece
so that the end stop is at the front edge of the work piece and the clamps are pointing towards the
opposite side of the work piece (Fig. 5).
Make certain the stop ring touches the front edge of the board and the inner parts of the template
lie directly on the work piece. Tighten the template using the clamps, which are tightened by hand –
forcing is unnecessary. Set the drilling depth on the chuck adaptor. Put the chuck adaptor with the
appropriate drill bit in the holes and start drilling the dowel holes (Fig. 5). Drill deep holes gradually
so that chips can be removed. Make certain the drill rotates in the correct direction – these are right-
hand bits.
