5 - USE OF THE TOOL

5.2 Starting procedures

Put the tool in a comfortable and stable position, for example in a branch fork or on a ground height. The teeth shall not
touch the ground or other objects (see picture C).
Seize the engine unit firmly, pull the recoil starter rope (2), start the engine and accelerate it.
WARNING!
With the trigger (8) in half-accelerating position, the rakes (picture E) or (picture F) move.

5.3 Stopping the tool

The tool must be switched off at the end of any working session:
stop the harvesting heads (pictures E-F) by pulling the trigger (8);
select the OFF mode with the switch (6);
lean the tool without leaving its weight on the rakes (picture C).

5.4 Use of the POWER MOTOR unit

WARNING!
Start the tool only when the teeth are among the branches. Any improper use causes a large wear-and-tear of the
tool and an excessive fuel consumption.
Do not make the harvesting head idle. Its structure could get damaged.
The operator, after having seized the tool with both hands according to the picture, has to carry out the following operations:
a)
Insert the teeth among the branches and pull the operating lever (8) manually. Comb the branch upwards to make the fruit fall.
b)
After the complete fruit fall, release the operating lever (8) and stop the tool. Repeat then the operation in point (a).
IMPORTANT!
After a long-lasting use, make the engine idle for a while till most of the heat is eliminated by the cooling air. This way
the engine unit parts (starting system, carburettor) do not overheat.
WARNING!
As soon as the engine starts working, the tool produces harmful exhaust gas, which can be odourless and
invisible.
Do not use the tool indoor or in scarcely airy rooms.
