Safety and protective devices

disabled safety and protective devices can result

vices repaired.

Never disable safety and protective devices.
2.4.1
Motor protection switch
The motor protection switch switches off the mo-
tor if the log splitter is overloaded.
Do not deactivate the function of the motor pro-
tection switch.
If the motor protection switch has switched off the
log splitter, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the log splitter from the mains.
2. Determine the cause of the overload.
3. Allow the log splitter to cool down for several
minutes, then connect to the mains again.
4. Switch on the log splitter.
2.4.2
Two-hand operation
The splitting wedge travels down only when both
operating arms are actuated simultaneously. This
avoids the risk of the operator's hands being in
the danger area.
2.4.3
Protective bracket
The protective bracket prevents split logs from
falling down during the splitting process.
2.4.4
Anchoring to the ground
LSV 550/6 only: Anchoring to t he ground pre-
vents the log splitter from tipping over and helps
to avoid serious injuries.
