Make sure the code number displayed on the
screen is the same as the code number printed
in the test strip vial. If the code numbers are
different, please refer to the section, "Coding the
Monitor", for the coding procedure.
Step3 Get a drop of blood.
Select the puncture site at fingertips or at other
parts of the body (AST). Clean the puncture site
using cotton moistened with 70% alcohol and let
it air dry.
► Fingertip testing
Hold the lancing device firmly against the side of
your finger. Press the release button. You will hear
a click, indicating that the puncture is complete.
►Sites other than fingertips
Please refer to the section, "Alternative Site
Testing", for possible puncture sites.
After penetration, discard the first drop of
blood with clean tissue paper or cotton. Gently
squeeze the punctured area to obtain blood. Be
careful NOT to smear the blood sample. The
volume of blood sample must be at least 0.7
microliters ( actual size).
