Depending on requirements, you can now extend the steam
cooker by including the steaming dish and cooking tray (TOP).

Finally, place the lid in position.
Use of the Rice Bowl
•
Place the rice or other foods with sauce or liquid in the rice
bowl.
Please also note our „Preparation Instructions". Here you will
fi nd recommendations for adding water to various types of rice.
Initial Operation
After you have fi lled in the water, replace the lid and insert the
mains plug into the socket. An acoustic signal is heard.
Selecting the Cooking Programme
•
„0:00" appears in the display. The POWER LED lights up in
green.
•
Now it is necessary to select a cooking programme with the
PROGRAM button.
NOTE:
The other buttons do not work until a cooking programme
has been selected.
•
When you have selected a cooking programme the cooking
time is also suggested simultaneously (see: Symbols in the
Display).
•
Press the ON/OFF button to start the cooking process
directly. The POWER LED lights up in red.
Changing the Cooking Time
•
After you have selected a cooking programme you can use
the COOKING TIME key to extend the cooking time.
•
For example, use the PROGRAM button to select the „Meat/
Poultry" setting. A cooking time of 25 minutes is displayed.
•
Press the COOKING TIME button to extend the cooking
time up to 59 minutes.
NOTE:
You cannot reduce the cooking time shown.
Operation using the Timer
•
After you have selected a cooking programme you can use
the TIMER button to delay the starting time.
•
For example, use the PROGRAM button to select the "rice"
setting. A cooking time of 30 minutes is shown.
•
Press the TIMER button. „0:00" appears in the display with
the minute fi gures fl ashing.
•
Press the COOKING TIME button in order to enter the time
delay in minutes.
•
Press the TIMER button again. The hour fi gures fl ash in the
display.
•
Press the COOKING TIME button in order to enter the time
delay in hours.

•
Press the ON/OFF button to start the timer. The POWER
LED fl ashes in green. After the time delay has elapsed
the selected cooking programme starts automatically. The
POWER LED lights up in red.
WARNING:
The device should not be left unattended. When cooking
using the timer you should always set the time such that
during its entire operation it is not left unattended.
Refi lling with Water
•
The special design of the recessed grips on the basic device
means that it can be refi lled with water during operation
without it being necessary to remove the cooking trays or
cooking dishes.
•
The holes in the bottom of the recessed grips lead to the
water tank.
•
If the water level is approaching the minimum mark during
operation, use an appropriate vessel to pour water slowly
into the recessed grips until the desired water level is
reached.
Insuffi cient Water
•
If the water has been entirely used up, this is indicated by
the „Insuffi cient Water" symbol.
•
If this has happened, the cooking process is automatically
interrupted.
•
Remove the plug from the socket.
•
Allow the device to cool down for approximately 15 minutes.
•
Then replenish with water and start cooking again.
Stopping Operation
1. Wait until the end of the cooking programme; then an acous-
tic signal is heard.
2. You can interrupt timer or cooking operations at any time by
keeping the ON/OFF button pressed down until an acoustic
signal is heard. The POWER LED then lights up in green.
WARNING:
When handling or removing the hot components always
use oven cloths or oven gloves to avoid getting burned by
the hot steam!

Remove the plug from the socket at the end of the cooking.
Preparation Instructions
General
•
The following times are only a guide and may vary depen-
ding upon circumstances.
•
If you are using several steaming dishes the total preparati-
on time will be approximately 5 minutes longer.
•
Large pieces or foods known to have a long cooking time
should always be placed on the bottom cooking tray.
•
Do not choose too large a quantity of food or food which
is itself too large so that the steam can pass through the
unblocked holes of the cooking tray.
•
Defrost meat and poultry before cooking it.
