The mains variant requires a 24V light bulb; the accumulator variant requires a 12V
light bulb.
The light switches off approx. 1.5 minutes after the last run command.
The operator runs for a maximum of approx. 40 seconds. If the door has not ope-
ned within this time the operator switches off.
The sensitivity for switching off changes in the proximity of the expected "end
point". In this area the force limit reacts more sensitively.
For a mains or accumulator failure all data remains stored: logged on transmitters,
"open" reference time, "close" reference time and the last position of the door
(opened or closed)
When the operator is connected to the power supply, the internal memory is first
checked. The checking lasts about 4 seconds – during this time running is not
possible.
Summary of the report messages by means of signal tones:
2 x beep after connecting the power supply: fault of the push button
-
Cause: pushbutton on the device is permanently pressed. The pushbutton is
possibly jammed in the housing. (Beep repeats itself in this case approx. every
3 seconds)
2 x beep during a run command: motor standstill detected
-
Cause: motor is blocked or faulty.
4 x beep during a run command: a run is not possible
-
Cause: pass-door contact is open or opto-sensor of the force rocker switch is
obstructed or is dirty.
6 x beep during a run command: a run is not possible
-
Cause: controller programme memory is faulty. Inform customer service ab-
out this.
3 x beep during a run command: undervoltage detected (only for accumulator
operation), a run is not possible
-
Cause: accumulator voltage has sunk below a critical level. A run cannot be
started. Afterwards a regular signal tone is sounded for 60 seconds.
3 x beep during a run: undervoltage detected (only for accumulator operation),
operator stops
-
Cause: accumulator voltage has sunk below a critical level during a run. A run
cannot be finished. After this the operator remains blocked for approx. 10 se-
conds and cannot be actuated.
5 x beep during a run command: temperature protection active
-
Cause: the temperature of the MOS-FET transistor on the printed circuit bo-
ard has exceeded 75°C. Allow operator 20min. to cool down, start again.
Regular signal tone after a run or permanently: accumulator voltage too low
-
Cause: the accumulator capacity soon exhausted. Recharging is necessary.
Operating Instructions
The manufacturer's liability expires with improper operation, maintenance
and/or if no original spare parts are used.
Pull out the mains plug before starting any work whatsoever with the opera-
tor.
Brief all persons that use the door system about safe operation in accor-
dance with regulations.
In activating the operator all opening and closing actions must be supervi-
sed to ensure that neither persons nor objects are in the moving area of the
door.
Hand-held transmitters and other remote control transmitters do not belong
in children's hands
Functional sequence
The garage door operator can be actuated by pressing the pushbutton on the
operator head or by other pulse generators such as hand-held transmitters, key
switches etc. Only a short pulse input is necessary.
First pulse input
-
operator starts and drives the door to the set end position OPEN or CLOSED
Pulse input during the run
-
door stops
New pulse
-
door continues the run in the opposite direction
Internal safety device
If the door runs into an obstacle during the run, the operator stops and the door can
be moved manually.
Pass-door contact (external safety device)
If there is a pass-door a pass-door contact (normally clo-
sed contact, a requirement in accordance with EN 12453)
must be fitted. For this the operator housing must be
opened and the small link next to the pass-door terminal
on the printed circuit board broken out with a screwdriver.
If the operator is activated when the pass-door is open
the run will not be made and the operator reports this by
emitting a beep tone four times.
If the link has been broken out and the pass-door contact
is no longer required, a link must be fitted in the terminal.
Emergency unlocking/ fast unlocking
During setting work, mains failure or disturbances the door can be unlocked by tur-
ning the inside handle and then operated by hand.
Orientation light
The orientation light switches itself on after a pulse input and off again after 90s
Change of light bulb: unscrew housing:
-
mains variant: light bulb 24V, 5W, Ba9S
-
accumulator variant: light bulb 12V, 4W, Ba9S
Hand-held transmitter
Programming other hand-held transmitters (max. 4):
-
see point 12
Battery change
-
Slide the battery compartment lid off the hand-held transmitter
-
Fit the new battery (alkaline 23A, 12V). Pay attention to the correct polarity.
-
Slide the battery compartment lid onto the hand-held transmitter
Maintenance/Checking
- Maintenance by qualified fitters -
For your safety you should get the door system checked by an expert company
before first putting into operation and then as required at least once a year.
Checking the force limit
-
Drive the door to the OPEN end position
-
Position obstacles (e.g. cartons) under the door closing edge
-
Start the door from the OPEN end position
-
The operator drives to the obstacle and stops
The force on the main closing edge may not exceed the values demanded according
to DIN EN 12453. Depending on the use of the door, and because of national regula-
tions, more extensive precautionary measures may be necessary.
Attention! a strong closing force can lead to injuries to persons and/or damage
to property. Setting the force: see Programming Instructions
2 year manufacturer's guarantee
Besides the guarantee based on our Terms of Sale and Delivery, we give a 2 year ma-
nufacturer's guarantee for a maximum of 15,000 duty cycles on the operator systems
mentioned above (accumulators: see note concerning accumulator operation).
Should these, or any part thereof, prove unusable due to material or production faults,
or should such faults seriously impair their use, we will, at our discretion, repair it or
replace it.
For damages caused by improper installation and mounting, incorrectly putting into
operation, operation and maintenance not according to instructions, improper use
and any unauthorized changes to the operator and the accesory parts, no liability will
be accepted. The same applies to damages caused by transport, force majeure, ex-
ternal influences or natural wear and tear as well as by unusual atmosphere conditi-
ons.
After unauthorized changes or repairs to functional parts, or after application of addi-
tional filling weight that the specified multiple spring assemblies can no longer coun-
terbalance, no guarantee can be accepted.
Faults are to be reported to us immediately in writing; the defective parts are to be re-
turned to us on request. The costs for dismounting, mounting, freight and postage will
not be covered by us. Should a complaint prove unjustified, the customer who placed
the order shall pay our costs.
This guarantee is valid only in conjunction with the acknowledged invoice and com-
mences on the day of delivery.
