Straightforward answers to key questions
The same principle applies to all orthoses: the better the fit, the
better the effect. Consequently: if possible, insoles that are attached
to the orthosis should be used.

How do I put on the WalkOn?
To be effective, the WalkOn should be worn with a stable shoe. We
recommend that you first place the orthosis in the shoe and then insert
your foot. The hook and loop closures should fit firmly on your leg
without constricting it. To prevent friction and for reasons of hygiene,
we recommend that you wear cotton socks.
(3)
Do I need a special shoe for the WalkOn?
No, but you should select a shoe with a reinforced heel. It is important
that the orthosis fits firmly so that it moves as little as possible.
In addition, due to its pre-defined shape, correct function can be
achieved only with the correct heel height. The recommended heel
height for your shoe is 10 mm (+/- 5 mm), or as determined by your
orthotist. Heels in any other shoes that you wear should have the same
height.
Are there any movements should I avoid while wearing
the WalkOn?
Basically there are no restrictions, but you should avoid extreme
movements that flex the orthosis too much. For example, when walking
and climbing stairs you should use your whole forefoot, not just the
tips of your toes.
(4)
Is it possible to take part in sport with the WalkOn?
Yes, in fact it is recommended that you are active. Speak to your
orthotist to get their advice on which sports are the most beneficial and
how to make the best use of your orthosis. You must avoid any extreme
or abrupt movements. However, if you wish to take part in sporting
activies that require special movements, please consult your orthotist.
